FAQs For Batteries

1. What is the cause of shell explosion of batteries?

A. : The necessary condition of causing shell explosion of batteries is that batteries are long-lasting by comparison when they encounter electric spark. The theory of battery shell explosion is the same as coal gas explosion. Whereas the process of electric spark generating is invisible to eyes. The 90% of possibilities is from the outside, such as wire clamps of batteries loosening, short-circuiting or electric leakage from cars. When batteries are discharged, however, they are normally maintaining 12V-10V above by detecting with discharging instruments. The 10% of possibilities is from the inside, such as parts inside batteries welded in vain or falsely. The batteries like these, generally, are used only for a short time and maintain 10V-0V by detecting.

2. The batteries used for a period time cant be charged with battery chargers. How will you deal with it?

A. : In the case of many electrical equipments used in cars, batteries will be in the state of lack of electricity. Therefore, serious vulcanizing phenomenon occurs and internal resistance of batteries enlarges. The following measures can be taken: shake batteries to make electrolyte mix well before charging  charge a single battery with gear 24V and then recharge with gear 12V afterward  install a single battery with electricity in series and then recharge with gear 24V together.

3. How will you restore the terminal quality of batteries charged in the case of terminals reversed?

A. : First of all, discharge the battery by connecting a working light bulb and then connect it to a battery with electricity for 5 minutes, negative terminals to negative terminals and positive terminals to positive terminals. After that, charge the battery with low current from battery chargers.
